minutesThis was probably the first cocktail I ordered when I was 21. I remember family members ordering this classic cocktail. Occasionally, we bring it back as it is beautiful in color and quite festive. The classic way is made with Creme de Cassis but can be made with Chambord which makes it sweeter. If making this at home, I would opt to buy a higher end Creme de Cassis. Dekuyper is ok but you will get a better result and less sweet with a Cassis classically made. You can also use Cassis in tonic water and other cocktails. Mathilde Cassis is always a good option and the price is good as well. There is no diary in Creme de Cassis. I was at a wine and spirits store looking for Creme de Cassis and the woman said that the only one they had left didn’t have cream in it but you could add the cream! I wish I was kidding. This is a delicious cocktail, 3 simple ingredients: sparkling wine such as Prosecco, Creme de Cassis and a lemon peel. The 3 flavors are fantastic. It is a perfect cocktail for a quiet dinner or for a party. Easy, simple, delicious and beautiful. Cheers.
