minutesThese were a hit on Valentine’s Day for my daughter’s class. They loved them. I used normal sprinkles, dark chocolate chips and Valentine M & M’s. The kids loved them and asked me to make them next year. This recipe, my daughter found on the internet. I had to do a little tweaking as there were some errors. Here is the recipe and I do recommend measuring everything. You can easily make these the day before.
Ingredients
227 grams butter-melted
240 grams brown sugar
120 grams sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
320 grams (3 cups) flour
1/2 cup Valentine M & M’s
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/3 cup Valentine sprinkles or jimmies
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350. Line a 9×9 square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy release.
- In a lg bowl, whisk together the melted butter, light brown sugar, and sugar until thick and smooth.
- Stir in the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition, then add the vanilla. Mix until fully combined.
- Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Fold until you see a few streaks of flour left.
- Fold in the M&M’s, Chocolate chips and sprinkles. making sure to evenly distribute all the goodies.
- Pour the batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-28 minutes, remove when top is lightly browned and set. Also when you stick in a toothpick and it comes out a few crumbs on it.
- Allow to sit for 30 minutes to cool and then refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
- Remove from pan with help of overhanging parchment paper and place on a cutting board. With a sharp long knife cut into 36 bars, 6×6. Serve and enjoy. These were a huge hit for my daughter’s class and I could see doing this for every holiday with different goodies.
