minutesI love lamb. These burgers were a hit for a dinner party. They have such great flavor and when grilled properly, do not overcook, they are delicious. They are moist, flavorful and were the hit of the party. I made them the day before and covered them with plastic wrap. I took them out about 20 minutes before I grilled them. I served them on a brioche bun and served several different mustards with them. I also sliced up some tomatoes if people wanted tomatoes other burgers with some Bibb lettuce and sliced avocados. For the adults, I served the Charred Corn Salad (recipe on blog) and for the kiddos, French fries. I doubled the recipe for the dinner party and it was easy to do, it made about 9 good size burgers. This recipe is the standard recipe for 4.
Ingredients
1 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
1 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon anch chile pepper
1 1/2 lbs ground lamb
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled-optional
Directions
- In a lg bowl, combine all the ingredients, and the cheese if using. Gently mix everything. I do this with my hands in gloves. Shape into 4 patties.
- Heat grill and once grill is ready, place the burgers on the grill. Get a good sear then move them off the direct fire and allow to slow cook for a few minutes, then flip and continue to cook until cooked through.
- Serve on a heated or toasted bun with all the condiments you enjoy.
