I grew up going to a great place in Hawaii on the big Island, The Mauna Kea, and they would serve these at the “Beach Stack”. The Ovaltine Froths there are made with soft serve and Ovaltine powder. I recreated it with Ice cream. I have one child who doesn’t care for vanilla ice cream so you can make these with any flavor. For adults they are delicious with a good strong coffee ice cream.
Ingredients
1 pint vanilla ice cream
6-8 Tablespoons Ovaltine Powder
Directions
- Take the pint of ice cream out of the freezer and let stand on the counter for 15 minutes. Place 2 glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes. Get the glasses nice and cold.
- When ready, add 2 Tablespoons of the Ovaltine powder to each glass. Add a scoop of the softened ice cream on top, repeat with 2 more tablespoons, then repeat with another scoop of ice cream then finish with 2 more tablespoons of the Ovaltine.
- Allow the glasses to sit for 5 minutes and serve with a spoon and a big straw.
- This is so enjoyable and delicious. My kids love it. Play around and get creative.
