I am a huge fan of many of the Cooking/Food/Recipe sites out in the world wide web. I use them for knowledge, for inspiration, for recipes and to shop for special ingredients or gifts for fellow chef friends.
Food 52 is a favorite and probably tops my list. It is a very organized site with the best recipes and a community of chefs and home chefs. I love the articles on foods, trends and what to make now. They have a wonderful store that is part of their site that has so many amazing items from chef’s tools, pots and pans, ingredients, gifts and more.
Another site I like to go to visit is Epicurious.com. I have been a subscriber for over 30 years to Bon Appetit magazine and also subscribed to Gourmet for many years. I have all their cookbooks and love them as a good way to find a quick recipe. They have a great collection from all their periodicals. Sometimes when I have something I want to make and I am having cooking block, I spend a few moments going through the recipes and I am instantly inspired.
Two other sites I visit often are Sunset magazine and Food and Wine magazine. I have also subscribed to both of these magazines for 30 years. Sunset magazine is similar to Southern Living as it really is all about California/West Coast living. The recipes are really about where we live, what we grow and what we eat. Southern Living is a great magazine as well because the recipes cater to the south and the magazine is full of great ideas for large gatherings. I used to subscribe to it when I was in college in Virginia.
Sunset always has great articles and recipes that i want to cook. The few cookbooks they have published I own and treasure. Food and Wine is another excellent magazine full of great articles and recipes. I treasure the time when I can sit and read through my recipe magazines. I love the inspiration and love using the recipes in my rotation of the following week.
The Kitchen is another site I frequent but not as often as the others. It has some good recipes and sources of good inspiration. I tend to float around all these sites as well as my expansive cookbook collection.
